--there will be short 15 minute breaks within each session. 

 
This workshop is for intermediate- advanced solo singers, choral singers, instrumentalists, music teachers and conductors.
Roger requests a simple MP3 recording or video sample of your singing if he has not worked with you recently.
After you fill out your registration form, we will be in touch if Roger needs an audio sample.

This workshop will focus on four aspects of the CircleSinging experience:  

1) Using the CircleSinging process as a method for developing traditional music skills
2) How CircleSongs can developed beyond the first idea
3) How to bring variation to the “style” of CircleSongs
4) How to morph from one CircleSong into another

Workshop Descriptions:

Segment 1    CircleSong Process
Exploration, Discovery and Definition:
From Concept to CircleSong.
 
Segment 2    Phrase Structures and Configurations
Setting ideas into the different layers (S,A,T,B) of the ensemble. 
 
Lunch 3:00-5:00 get some air, rest your voice, take a little walk, eat lunch...get back on time
 
Segment 3   Opening the Circle
Creating variety by integrating improvisation into the structure of a CircleSong.
 
Segment 4   The Living Story
Creating a continuous StoryLine through modulation:
morphing from one CircleSong into another.

Dinner together: If you would like to join Roger and your fellow singers for dinner and conversation after the workshop, please select that option on the registration page.. We will reserve a few tables at a nearby restaurant based on your feedback. Singers are responsible for their own meal.
